The memorial of solicitor and Town Clerk, Paul Octavious Haythorne Reed and his son Ernest was conserved by his descendants in the summer of 2014. The inscription reads: 38/550 In the Loving Memory of Ernest L. H. Reed who departed this life with Christ October 27th 1939 Born 23rd September 1856, born again 27th June 1886 except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven. Paul O. H. Reed of Hamp House, Bridgwater Solicitor who died 14th April 1903 aged 73 years. Them also which sleep in Jesus, God bring with him.

The memorial had suffered considerably from subsidence and the cross had been toppled some time ago. Fine Memorials of Bridgwater reset the base of the memorial, mortared the stepped base back into place and finally pinned the cross back into position.

The memorial, August 2014, having been re-erected and awaiting conservation of its kerb and a good clean.
