Memorial Archive for the Wembdon Road Cemetery

Since 2010, our The Friends have recorded every surviving memorial in the cemetery.

A searchable database of over 1400 memorials has been created in the Members' Section, incorporating photographs, transcriptions and locations of all of these stones. By example here are the records we hold for William Symons who died in 1869 and is buried in Dissenter Plan 6, grave 17/682.

Dates of death are usually recorded on a memorial and armed with this information the Burial Registers can be consulted by Members. Here further details can be discovered, usually including their last known address.

Some memorials are still being discovered especially where flat tomb slabs have settled or headstones have fallen and been overgrown, these are fully recorded and added to our database as soon as they are discovered.

If you would like to become a Member press the Join button below and you will have automatic access to all these records and much more. All membership fees are ploughed back into funding our endeavours to bring dignity back to this sacred place and make its records available to descendants and genealogists alike.
