A cold but sunny morning, Alan, Dave and Chris in the cemetery today (9 February 2025).
The first job was to re-assemble the Hodge 13-53 grave completely broken apart when a large tree was blown down by the high winds 5 or 6 weeks ago. Two pads were left in position and intact, the two missing pads were located, one separately from the kerbs, the other one still attached to a short end kerb. One of the long kerbs had two posts still attached.
Using rollers the long kerb was rolled into position, the short kerb with attached post was levered in position, it was not long before the other long kerb, although broken was also in place. The remaining short kerb and last post was dropped into position. It was agreed to leave the kerbs and posts to settle in and when the weather is warmer to cement them together.

Pleased with their efforts the boys decided to remove the chain link fence that had been crushed as the tree fell. Chris with bolt cutters got to work cutting the fence free and removing the metal stakes.

Dave and Alan removing ivy and tree debris from the area between the neighbours wooden fence and where the metal fence had been removed by Chris. During this time Astrid and Felix came in to provide a bit of encouragement and inspect their work.

A dumpy bag was filled with debris and taken over to the rubbish area, well satisfied with their efforts they made their way home.
