Diary: Sunday 29 March 2026

Only Alan and Chris in the cemetery today, the weather was overcast with the threat of rain.

It was decided to concentrate on the hedge that had been cut back by the Bridgwater Council Grass cutting Team a few months ago, the hedge bordered Jam Factory lane.

On making their way there Alan decided to check the Thomas grave J58 where a long and short kerb had been forced apart, and the four posts loose.  It did not take them long to clean the kerbs and posts ready to be cemented back together when the weather is better.

The stone chipping inside the grave was bagged up and will be sieved and cleaned and returned to the grave when the kerbs have been cemented.

Making their way over to the hedge it was in a better state than first thought, the task was just tidying the edge of the hedge using lobbers to make a clear pathway between the hedge and the graves situated at the top of sections L and M, making care not to disturb any birds starting to nest, raking up enough debris to fill 2 dumpy bags.

The Larcombe M71 and White M114 situated close to the fence had become overgrown with brambles and undergrowth, these were given a quick tidy as it felt like rain was in the air, so the boys thought it time to make their way home and were pleased with their efforts.
