Diary: Sunday 8 October 2023

A lovely hot sunny day for Dave, Alan and Rita to slog in the cemetery today (8 October 2023). All three were busy at the top end of the cemetery by Jam Factory Lane clearing the overgrown undergrowth preparing the area for tree felling and planting in a few weeks time. Five dumpy bags were filled with debris, still at least one more work session here before we are ready.

One of the neighbours has kindly cut back some of the ‘new’ hedge that backs on to the houses in Wembdon Road. It had become overgrown and needed a good cut back. We will pick up the debris as soon as we have finished clearing the area we are working on.

A second hand handle has been fitted to the mattock which our strong chairman Miles managed to snap when working hard a few weeks ago. Alan used the mattock and said it is now as good as new.

A good hard work session, no need for the gym this week!
