Diary: Sunday 6 July 2025

The whole team were in the cemetery today (6 July 2025), not all working but nice to get back together after a few weeks away.

Alan & Rita were first to arrive and started to clear up the ivy that Alan had cut back from the pantomime walls a few weeks ago, this done Rita cleared around the large tree where the ivy had been, Dave came in and between them they had a good clear up along the wall.

In the meantime Alan and Chris worked on the Norris B69 grave started a couple of weeks ago, cementing the gap between the kerbs and the concrete base slab. They then sieved and cleaned the stone chippings and with the chippings that Chris had cleaned a few weeks ago they placed it in the grave.

Moving over to the Wells B70 grave they decided to cement the gap between one of the kerbs and slab rather than digging the kerb out and moving it tight against the centre slab as there was a chance that the kerb would break. Not sure at this stage if stone chipping should be added.

After Dave had gone home to look after Val who is recovering well after after her stay in hospital, Rita cleaned out the weeds from five graves along the main path, plenty more to do next week!

Astrid came in to see us, lovely to see her and now recovering from her eye op so taking things easy, we ensured she did absolutely nothing but sit down and have a chat!

Another good day out!
