Burial Registers

These burial registers have been painstakingly compiled from the local archives by our research volunteers. We hope they provide you with a useful resource to help track your ancestors. Please let us know if you spot any transcription errors.

The Wembdon Road Cemetery was split between Church of England (Anglican) and Non-Conformist ('Dissenter' ie not Church of England). Both sides of the cemetery kept burial records. Each Dissenting congregation (Unitarian, Methodist, Mariner, Wesleyan, Baptist, Quaker, Congregationalist) also kept their own registers. Where they survive, we hope to add these in time.

There are many records and registers we still need to add, and we are always looking for volunteers who might be able to help us. If you think this might be something you'd enjoy, please get in contact.

Note that your ancestors may be buried in the Bristol Road Cemetery or the Quantock Road Cemetery. For both, contact Bridgwater Town Council.
