The Chorley Memorial was spruced up in 2012 by the Webbs.
The Chorley memorial was heavily obscured when first surveyed in 2008, the stone was heavily worn, the kerb damaged and chippings completely gone. The memorial was restored in 2012 by Mr. and Mrs. Webb, descendants of those interred. The overgrowth was completely removed and the kerb reassembled. New chippings were placed within the kerb and the headstone was cleaned to reveal the rich marble underneath.
The inscription on this memorial reads: 47/1015 In Loving Memory of James Chorley who died July 19 1893 aged 72 years. 'Farewell dear life my life is past, faithful I loved you to the last. Pray on my children pity take and love them for their fathers sake. Also of Elizabeth Chorley wife of the above who died May 6th 1903 aged 73 years. Also of Fanny the beloved wife of John Boyce who died Aug. 29 1915 aged 63 years. 'Entered into Rest'.
