Chris, Astrid, Alan and Rita working in the cemetery today (5 February 2023). It was nice to see Dave who popped in to see us and inspect our work! Alan and Chris spent the morning working on the Jarvis 4-20 grave, one of the inner slabs was too big, as a result the kerbs and posts would not fit together. The cut slab was laid in and the kerbs and posts were cemented back in place and earth was back filled around the grave. Chris has taken the loose inner stone chippings to be cleaned, so the next job is to put these back and the job will be completed.
Astrid and Rita spent most of the morning scrubbing, Astrid working on the large tier block of the Crocker 7-65 and Rita on the ornate cross, both of which are coming up nicely, but a lot more to do yet. They moved over to finish clearing brambles along the bottom edge of the cemetery which they started last week, this is now completed.
It was a lovely day and a pleasure to be working in the sunshine.
