Working along the fence

Today they decided to clear the brambles and nettles in front of the boundary fences at the North end of the cemetery. Good progress was made and three dumpy bags were filled.

It is planned to plant shrubs in this area at a later date.

The area of work before the team got started.
A closer view of the section further on. Part of the bramble bush will be retained in this year's plan.

Although the area worked on is clear, there is still the job of digging out the roots of the brambles and nettles before any planting can take place.

Completed work along the fence, 5 March 2023. We hope to plant a new hedge here later in the year, to hide the old fence and make the backdrop of the cemetery a little more appropriate.

Alan fitted a plastic cap to the top of the stop-cock pipe to prevent rain running down the pipe to shelter the stop cock and keep it dry. Thanks to Sedgemoor District Council for repairing the tap, we now have water.

Another good day's work.
