The Randle Obelisk was the tallest memorial in the cemetery. The family vault below covers a full four plots, although the foundations of this obelisk take up a fair chunk of that space. The inscription reads: In memory of Charles the beloved son of George and Mary Randle born 29th April 1871 died 27th March 1910. In sacred memory of my dear husband George Randle who passed away on may 15th 1918. Also of Mary wife of the above born October 14th 1846 died December 31st 1927. Burial records show, Gladys Greenslade Smith buried Aug. 22 1932. Also Amy Templan Randle buried May 27 1956 aged 84 years.

This memorial was repaired after a fundraising effort by descendants of this family. It was a big job for Fine Memorials to undertake, but a relatively straightforward one. The dismantled sections of the plinth were reinstated, then the obelisk was hauled up, and then raised into place.

First off a pin was inserted to secure all of the memorial together.
First the great obelisk hard to be lifted to the right height.
Very carefully it was then notched upright, the greatest care being taken to keep it on the right trajectory.

The moment of truth, when gravity took over and the memorial became whole again.

Now the Randle Obelisk is just in need of a clean!
