Chief Petty Officer, Acting Engine Room Artificer 4th Class, HMS Pembroke, Royal Navy
Edmund George Millard was born on 10 April 1896 to Edmund Millard of Stogursey, a smith and later an engineer and Annie Jane Millard. In 1911 they lived in Bath Bridge, 98 Bath Road, Bridgwater, and that year George had four sisters and two brothers.
He died in Britain 26 January 1918. HMS Pembroke was a shore based establishment (Chatham) and was hit by German bombs in September 1917, George may have been injured in this incident and later died from these wounds. He was aged 24.At the time he died his mother was living in The Lindens, Wembdon Road.
