Our Logo

The Friends' Logo was designed by Ben Hoyal of Wembdon in April 2010. It is a monogram made if the initials of 'The Friends of the Wembdon Road Cemetery', where the T for 'the' has been made to resemble a memorial cross. The typeface is 'mason', which was inspired by gothic architecture and black letterforms, where the typographer wished to produce a typeface that was contemporary, while inspired by the past, which perfectly reflects the philosophy of the Friends. The T resembles the many stones crosses found in the cemetery, again reflecting the built heritage the Friends wish to preserve, while the three leaves that join the letterform show the natural habitat we wish to foster, which acts symbolically as a branch between past, present and future.
