The Friends' chairman Miles has been researching the names of those buried in Row 1 Section G in the St Mary’s part of the cemetery, that hopefully will confirm the precise location of graves and those buried there. There are no known plans of the layout, over the past ten years research has been carried out by the Friends and from information found many thousands of family plots have been identified making it possible to draw up area sections.
As it was a bright and sunny day Alan and Rita thought it was an ideal time to see if they could provide information for Miles that would help him locate grave positions and those buried there.
Arriving in the cemetery they were pleased to see that SDC had been in and cut the grass. In the afternoon sun the cemetery looked wonderful, especially with all the daffodils in bloom.
After 4 hours of measuring, digging and cleaning hopefully information found will help Miles with his research.
