Diary: Tuesday 23 April 2024

A nice day to day (23 April 2024) with rain forecast for the next week so Alan & Rita decided to pop in the cemetery for a couple of hours to work off some of the weight they put on after their few days away.

They worked on levelling the kerbstones of the Badger grave 14-19 and after a couple of attempts Alan was happy that they were all level. This done he cemented the kerbs back together and part filled Badger grave but still needs two more wheelbarrows full of earth before the broken pieces of the inner concrete slab can be put back into place. He had to mix up the cement himself today as Rita decided to cut down the elder saplings growing all around the Redwood tree filling a dumpy bag while he was cementing.

He then filled in the centre of the Burge 14-15 grave with earth and, as Rita doesn’t do digging she cut the ivy growing on the neighbours fences on the North side of the cemetery.

A pleasant day and worth the effort, although no weight loss as too much chocolate when they got home to give them extra energy.
