Alan working in the cemetery today (30 October 2024) to sort out the Roberts grave M56 and Dave popped in for a chat.
Alan went in to lay bricks in a row to support the kerbs. The job went well, it took two rows of bricks to bring up to the level required. The old cement joints were taken off the long kerbs and short end kerb and were placed into position. Photo’s taken. The kerbs are now ready to be cemented together when next in.
Once the kerbs are cemented, a decision needs to be made should the gap caused by the concrete slab sinking, be filled.
While working, besides being visited by Dave he also had a chat with Duncan (previously with Somerset County Council) who had come in to inspect the trees on behalf of Somerset County as he is contracted to look after the trees in the cemetery.
