A lovely sunny day for Chris, Dave, Alan and Rita working in the cemetery today (6 April 2025), with Astrid and Felix popping in to supervise and have a chat.
Chris and Dave worked on the Chick, Hall and Hodgson graves 13-11, 13-12, and 13-13 cleaning off he weeds, grass and ivy. Leaving the pine needles to be cleared out later.

They then moved over to the Vyse 13-31 and Storey13-32 and again cleared the weeds ivy and grass, then sieved the earth inside and placed the stone chipping in bags to be washed later.

Alan worked on the Hawkes grave 9-7, the end of one of the long kerbs and had disappeared into a large fir tree that had grown up at the end of the grave and had moved the kerbs out of position. Alan worked hard and managed to move the kerbs back into their rightful position, ready for cementing back together on another day. He also used the mattock to clear the ivy from around a number of graves in the area where the team were working, and then sieved the stone chipping from the Hill grave 9-5 and managed to save a barrow of earth that Dave put in the Hodge grave 13-53.

Meanwhile Rita was digging out the earth and pine needles from the Usher 13-8, Pople 13-9 and Ashill 13-10. Rita also cleared ivy off the large tree.
Astrid and Rita walked over to the bluebell area and were pleased to see some of them already in flower, Astrid took a photo. Astrid also took a photo of Dr Cattermoles tree which looks lovely and is in full bloom, the tree was planted in commemoration to all the work he had done for Bridgwater.
A good mornings work by everyone.
