Alan and Rita working in the cemetery today (30 August 2026). After heavy rain yesterday, Alan thought he would try and dig a hole where our new memorial is to be installed in Section G. (More information on this soon). Sadly after digging for what seemed ages, he realised he needed more than his pickaxe and spade, and a lot more rain, so this job is now on hold.
As a couple of graves nearby were looking a bit shabby Alan gave them a tidy up while Rita moved over to Section C and cleared the ivy from the Goodridge C6 headstone and also the Bidgood headstone in G51. Further over a small holly bush was growing between G2 King and G17 Boulting so Alan chopped that one down. Forgot the before photos for the ivy but remembered before and after for the Holly bush.

Dark clouds were looming again, there had already been a short heavy shower when they arrived in the cemetery, so most of the tools were packed up and all ready to run for shelter if it rained again.
Luckily the large black cloud missed us and after our late tea break we started to cut back the long brambles that were growing out of the hedge which runs behind Wembdon Road houses alongside Sections B and C. This filled a Large dumpy bag that Alan dragged over to the Debris area.

Looking really black again they packed the tools in the car and made their way home.
