Diary: Monday 19 April 2021

Rita and Alan in the cemetery as Fine Memorials were working on the Boyce G65 and Bowden G 30 graves, Rita took a couple of photo’s of them at work. While they were there Alan decided to cement the kerbs of the White M119 back together and Rita started clearing the bluebell area which has become overgrown with grass and weeds. Astrid arrived and with Alan joined Rita and worked hard filling 3 dumpy bags of weeds. The cemetery looks really nice as SDC have been in and cut the grass. Unfortunately it looks like the mower just clipped the Cox J 9 headstone as it was broken and was now laid on the ground. It has broken in a number of places so not able to be re-erected. There was only a tiny mark on the headstone, as this is a stone headstone they do become very brittle and this one is well over 100 years old. The Friends to look at the possibility of laying the headstone on slabs to keep it together and not become overgrown with grass.
