Dave Chris, Astrid Alan & Rita in the cemetery today. The first job was to clear the ivy off the front pillar and clean up the front of the cemetery along the front path on Wembdon Road. (The other side was cleared last week). This done everyone made their way down to the end of the cemetery along by the Pantomime wall. Work began in earnest cutting back the saplings and low branches on the unanimous tree, moving slowly down toward Provident Place trimming branches, saplings, brambles and a number of trees from the Pantomime Society that had overgrown on our side and these were also cut back. Dave and Chris removed ivy from a number of headstones.
Altogether 4 large dumpy bags were filled and pulled over to the rest of the 20 filled bags by Jam Factory wall ready for collection by SDC. Everyone felt a lot had been achieved this morning and we could see a difference as it has opened up this area.
