The team were back (well most of them) and raring to get stuck into some work (or exercise as they like to say!) - Sunday 28 January 2024
Alan & Rita were first to arrive followed within seconds by Astrid with Felix and Dave.
Rita and Astrid decided they would start work at the front of the cemetery where Alan had cut saplings from around one of the big trees and left a pile of twigs to be picked up. Rita tackled the saplings on the other big tree while Astrid picked up loads of twigs blown from the trees from the last few storms. Rita picked up the branches and saplings and filled 2 dumpy bags. Astrid tackled the saplings on the Hazel and Euonymus tree, doing a grand job and filling another dumpy bag.
Meanwhile Alan and Dave worked on the Greenslade/Durant grave cementing back together the kerbs and posts. Next time we are in the cement will have hardened and the green chipping can be placed back in after it has been cleaned.
All in all a good mornings work, finishing a little earlier than usual but felt they had done enough on their first day back.
Alan & Rita’s daughter and son-in-law popped in with Suki to see us and Felix was kind enough to let Suki have a drink from his water bowl.
