Just Alan and Dave able to make it to the cemetery today (19 May 2024). Astrid had a fall at home and sadly broke her leg in two places, we wish her well and a speedy recovery – we will miss her. Both Rita and Chris had family matters to attend to.
Dave and Alan worked in the sunshine on the Edwards 14-18 grave with the missing short kerb that we were able to find a replacement for. Today’s job was to cement it in place and tidy the area around the grave, all went well and a photo was taken of the completed job.
They then moved over to the Bradbury grave 10-39 started by Chris last week. The plan was to sort out the kerbs ready for cementing when next in, this took a little longer than first thought as both the long kerbs were broken and roots and grass had grown up between the kerbs and concrete over slab which were removed. All the kerbs fitted together well so it should not be difficult to cement back together.
It was very hot and both Dave and Alan felt it best to leave the cementing for another day.
