Alan and Rita paid a quick visit to the cemetery today to see if the recent high winds had caused any damage within the cemetery (25 November 2024).
There were plenty of small sticks and branches lying about, and one fairly large branch had come down from the Cedar tree in the centre of the cemetery, otherwise everything looked good.
Most of the small bits came from the two trees in the front of the cemetery, they have been put in a pile to be bagged up when the weather permits a working party.
Had a chat to one of the neighbours in Wembdon Road whose back garden borders the cemetery, he asked if it was alright to cut back the bush that was growing at the end of the hedge by his fence as it was blocking the sunshine coming into his back garden, we said we would be happy for him to do that as the bush is getting out of control.
He did mention that someone had been in and picked up leaves around one of the big trees and took them away in large bags on his wheelbarrow. We said a neighbour in Wembdon Road had asked if he could pick up the leaves for mulch to put in his garden and again we told him we were happy for him to do this.
