Diary: Sunday 18 September 2022

Astrid, Chris, Alan and Rita in the cemetery today (18 September 2022). The teams job today was centred on continuing work from previous weeks on Plan 9 Section E. Chris and Alan completed the restoration of the Slater 9-8 grave. For a memorial that had collapsed with the kerbs and posts loose and one of the kerbs broken, was now a splendid sight with the sign of the cross now replaced for the centrepiece of the memorial.

Meanwhile Astrid and Rita weeded the three graves behind the Slater, these being the Kearle 9-3, Lynham 9-2 and Chidgey 9-1. They found the weeds between the graves were the most difficult to remove. Alan and Chris helped the girls with their task by getting barrow loads of earth to tidy the insides of the graves. Everyone was pleased with the way the area and graves now look, clean and tidy, photographs were taken to put on the website. It also helped that SDC had been in and cut the grass so everywhere looked nice on this sunny day.
